Engineer Abdullahi Audu Sule was born on December 26, 1959, in Gudi, a community within the Akwanga Local Government Area of present-day Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He hails from the esteemed royal lineage of Gudi, with his father, Sule Bawa, having served as the traditional ruler of the community. His most prominent private sector role came in 2000 when he joined the Dangote Group, one of Africa's largest industrial conglomerates. He was instrumental in establishing and growing Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. Appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc in 2001, he spearheaded its transformation into a dominant force in the Nigerian sugar industry.
